The Honourable Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs ( rtd) Hon. Bashir Aboubakar MFR, has said, ” The emergence of the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, as Chairman of Council World Customs Organization is opt and a welcome development.
The Chairman, Hon. Bashir Aboubakar, disclosed this information in a chat with GLOBAL RAYS Media recently.
He added, “Nigeria placement in international trade is clear and especially for the position of Nigeria Customs Service globally with regards to Africa Continent. We are key player and the position of Nigeria Customs Service professionally in international trade is a good development that the CGC is the new chairman of Council World Customs Organization. ”
Hon. Abubakar, asserted, ” This is a continuation of the good conduct and professional operations of the Nigeria Customs Service in international trade and comity of maritime nations.”
He posited, ” With the emergence of the CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, is another testament of his move and capacity with excellent performance and evaluation in efficient service delivery. ”
Speaking further, he opined, ” The CGC emergence is anchored on his very good international relations and synergies created with international operators and organizations regarding the imports and exports value chain.”

On his goodwill message to officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service, the retired and unassuming but highly resourceful Assistant Comptroller General of Customs and Chairman, Public Complaints Commission, said, ” Officers and men should always display professionalism in their operations and service delivery. The issue of good conduct and honesty shouldn’t be taken for granted.”
He charged, ” Officers and men should be seen to be honest in their day to day activities and your words should be your command at all times to build trust and confidence in your superior bosses and colleagues.”
Sequel to his good conduct, high ethical standards and profound integrity and credibility in Nigeria Customs Service, the retired but not tired unassuming and pragmatic Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, ACG Bashir Aboubakar MFR, was conferrrd with a prestigious presidential integrity award in 2019 by President Muhammadu Buhari and a national award in 2022; these are impetus and morale booster for the officers and men in Nigeria Customs Service.
