The internal peace,order and co-existence of activities and human beings are most often the statutory responsibilities of the Police, since, they are structured and trained to forestall breakdown of law and order; and anomalies in the society.
The Nigerian Police Force is no exception, the force has under gone several metamorphosis aimed to reform and conform with the ever growing rate of security challenges in the society.
However, outstanding and remarkable impacts and rescue have been achieved in the security apparatus of the Nigerian Police under the Inspector General of Police, Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari.
The team have been code named as ” The Fear of IRT is the Beginning of Repentant.” The IRT team has continued to tackle security lapses and Challenges by a more Proactive, Resilient and Intelligence- Results driven Strategy with a view to get rid of criminals and criminal activities in the nation.
Irrespective of the Policing conditions, the IRT have remained focused, disciplined and resolute to flush out criminals in all nooks and crannies of the nation.
The achievements recorded by the team is very enormous and Monumental which calls for accolades aimed to boost their morale and productivity.
The leader of the team , Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari, have proved his mettle and dexterity in reducing criminals and criminal activities nation wide to the barest minimum without any action or inaction capable to compromise with standards and professionalism; sequel to the aforementioned, welcome on board, Global Achiever Ambassador of the year 2020, DCP Abba Kyari.
Born 17 March 1975, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Priori to his appointment as IGP – IRT, he has served at Lagos State Police command as the officer in Charge of the Special Anti – Robbery Squad (SARS) where he dealt with robbers spell bound.
