DIG UMAR SHEHU NADADA ASSUMES OFFICE AS DIG OPERATIONS, FORCE HEADQUARTERS…. A Seasoned Officer Committed to Operational Efficiency and Reforms

Sequel to the unalloyed commitment and pragmatic reforms of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji DISU, aimed to secure and safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians as embedded in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Renewed Hope Mantra; the IGP has appointed the DeputyInspector-General of Police, DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, psc, mspsp, mni, as DIG Operations Force Headquarters, Abuja. 

DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, psc, mspsp, mni, takes over the years has maintained and sustained all inclusive exemplary leadership qualities with a wealth of professional experience, strategic competence, and a strong commitment to effective policing, crime prevention, and the promotion of public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

DIG Umar Shehu Nadada psc, mspsp, mni is a seasoned police officer who has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities across the country, contributing significantly to internal security and police reforms.

The new Deputy Inspector General of Police hails from the Rano Local Government Area of Kano State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano, in 1989. And he has a master’s in law enforcement and criminal justice (MLCJ 2010) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 18th May, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and underwent professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Annex, Kaduna.Throughout his illustrious career and dint of hard work, DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, psc, mspsp, mni, has served in several strategic and leadership positions, including;
Staff Officer Junior (SOJ), Niger State Command;  Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) “B” Division, Bida and “B” Officer In-charge (OC), Madalla Police Station;  Officer In-charge (OC) Anti-Robbery Section, State CID Minna; Officer in Charge, General Investigation, State CID Minna; Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Bida, Mokwa, Kontagora, Bosso and Central Police Station Minna, all in Niger State;  Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ologede and Omuooke, Ekiti, in Ekiti State; Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Sabon Gari Zaria, Zaria City, Samaru and Birnin Gwari Division, all in Kaduna State;  Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in 3-3 Division, Onitsha, Anambra State; Assistant and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Nasarawa State; Commissioner of Police, Katsina State; Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State; Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

 

Committed to human capacity development he attended several courses; The DIG has attended several courses within and outside the country, such as;Citizenship and Leadership Course at Shere Hills, Jos; Police Mobile Training College, Gwoza, Borno State; Intermediate Command course at Police Staff College, Jos;  Leadership Course at Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, LagosLagos; Financial Intelligence and Fraud Management Course; International Standards of Law Enforcement Course; Senior Executive Course 45, 2023, at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State; Leadership Course at China National Academy of Governance in Beijing, China.

DIG Nadada is a member of several professional  bodies; Member of the National Institute, mni And Member of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice, MSPSP.

He is happily married with children.
