In accordance with the tripod policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC, Dr. Adewale Adeniyi MFR, aimed to suppress smuggling activities, boost revenue generation and enhance trade facilitation the newly redeployed Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit, Zone D, Bauchi, Comptroller Abdullahi Shaibu Kaila, has taken over baton of leadership from Comptroller Abubakar Umar at a brief formal ceremony held at the Headquarters in Bauchi.
Comptroller Abubakar Umar handed over the leadership of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone D to Comptroller Abdullahi Shuaibu Kaila; which highlights series of commendation with a seamless transition of authority.
In his remarks, Comptroller Umar thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Dr. Adewale Adeniyi and his management team for their support and the opportunity to serve the service.
Comptroller Umar, reaffirmed the unit’s significant success in anti-smuggling operations and revenue protection across 9 states and charged all officers and men to accord the new Comptroller necessary and needed cooperation to succeed and achieve his mandate.
The Federal Operations Unit, FOU, Zone D; which covers Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Benue, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, and Nassarawa states, with a mandate to suppress smuggling activities, boost revenue generation through Demand Notice and enforce national security.

Comptroller Abdullahi Shaibu Kaila, is an unassuming, Pragmatic and results driven senior customs officer, who has always proven his mettle and dexterity in the discharge of his duties.

Having worked at the defunct strike force; TCIP; Apapa Customs Command; his a resourceful and team player of repute whose impetus is to achieve results and robust synergies in the value chain of trade.
