The death has been announced of the former Comptroller General of Customs, CGC, Ahmed A Mustapha after a brief illness in Abuja.
As his burial is scheduled for today in Yola, Adamawa State according to Islamic rites.
In view of the backdrop, the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha, who died earlier today.
In a heartfelt message addressed to the current Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and made available to GLOBAL RAYS Media.
The statement reads in part: “We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha, a distinguished former Comptroller General whose contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service remain etched in the annals of our nation’s trade and border management history. “
Adding, “On behalf of the entire membership of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents, we extend our profound condolences to the Nigeria Customs Service, the family of the deceased, and all stakeholders affected by this loss.”
The message, signed by ANLCA President Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji, described Mustapha as “a man of integrity, discipline, and vision,” whose tenure laid foundations that continue to shape the Service’s operations today.
Emenike, asserted, “May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations of customs officers and trade professionals. ”
Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha served as Comptroller General of Customs during a pivotal era in Nigeria’s customs service and meaningful reforms and professionalism.
