The critical maritime stakeholders at eastern ports, especially Onne Customs Command, have poured accolades on Assistant Comptroller Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, officer in charge of FOT GATE Area2, Customs Command Onne Port, Rivers State on his excellent performance, robust synergies created and smooth trade facilitation enjoyed at the FOT gate, in terms of anti-smuggling activities, fiscal policy compliance, and revenue recovery and generation, which are core mandates of the Service, since he took over from DC KR Usman, December 2024.
GLOBAL RAYS investigation, at the gate revealed that the AC Mohammed Ibrahim, has stabilized and enforced adherence and compliance of due process documentation and seamless cargo clearance.
In a chat with GLOBAL RAYS, the former chairman, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Onne Seaport Chapter, Hon Mike Ebeatu, said, ” Since assumption of Office, AC Ibrahim has remained committed, focused and resilient on the core mandate of Nigeria Customs Service. An unassuming, humble and resourceful senior customs officer who run an all inclusive approach to challenges and profer lasting solutions with adherence to the fiscal policy of the federal government and the Comptroller General of Customs tripod agenda.”
Reacting, the Chairman, of Odest Bonded Terminal, Mr. Chidera Oganuzor, commended the unalloyed efforts and unwavering zeal of the officer in charge at the FOT gate. He called on all stakeholders to give him the necessary support and cooperation for him to achieve its mandate.
However, most maritime renowned personalities who confided in GLOBAL RAYS appraised his activities since he had assumed duty at the FOT GATE Unit. They posited, the Unit under his watch has made enormous recoveries from noncompliant traders, who delighted to rip off federal government huge revenue, through maneuvering of fiscal policies and extant laws on international trade. These recoveries and blockings of revenue leakages, undeniably, have increased tremendously the revenue of the Command, they averred.
Sequel to his over the years consistent unalloyed commitment, discipline, good conduct and high ethical standards in the discharge of his duties, AC Mohammed Ibrahim, was conferred the Prestigious GLOBAL ACHIEVERS AMBASSADOR Award by GLOBAL RAYS Media in collaboration with INTERNATIONAL MERIT ORGANIZATION, an NGO based in South Africa, in recognition and appreciation of his value addition and robust synergies created at the FOT gate
Incontrovertibly, AC Ibrahim is a dedicated and a courageous officer, who carries out his duty professionally and diligently according to the directives of his Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) Compt. Mohammed Babandede and a good team player. This he does, in strict compliance with Federal Government fiscal policies on importation and exportation of goods at port. Of course, vibrant Ibrahim is a team player, who had forestalled many irregularities with active cooperation of officers under his watch, within few months at the Unit. His distractors, shall attest to it.
Undeniably, Assistant Comptroller M Ibrahim has enviable credentials that enable him to achieve a mile stone within few months at the helms of the affairs at the Unit. His humility, integrity, transparency, hard work, knowledge of customs laws and regulations, analytical skills and professionalism in carrying out his official assignments, had made him to excel in all his official assignments.
We, have no doubt in our mind, that these qualities, can effectively help him to implement government policies, generate huge revenue and suppress smuggling activities at the Command.
