In a night of several awards categories and glamour; the Nigeria Customs Service, Onne area command and West Africa Container Terminals, WACT, Onne has received several awards, while the Onne Customs area Command received the award for best in anti-smuggling activities by saving a lot of lives from destruction via the interception of arms, ammunition and drugs. In the same vein, the West African Container Terminals, WACT, bagged the best Terminals in Ports operations and trade facilitation.
In his remarks, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Babandede, said, “It’s a team work by all officers and men of the command. I couldn’t have done it alone if not for the role every officer and men in the Command played in ensuring public health and safety of lives. ”
However, the CAC appreciated all officers and men of the Command for their contribution towards making the country safe.
In his reaction, the General Manager, West African Container Terminals, WACT, Chief Innocent Ogbuji, said, ” On behalf of the Management and Staff we thank Nugeria Customs Service for the award and WACT will not rest on it’s oars to ensure seamless ports operations and trade facilitation in compliance with the fiscal policy of the federal government in line with international standards and best practices. ”
His words: “WACT is committed to seamless ports operations, robust synergies with stakeholders and enhanced trade facilitation. ”
The West African container Terminals has remained a flagship for ports operations and trade facilitation globally.
