CUSTOMS, NPA AND ANLCA PARTNERS IN IMPLEMENTATION OF FISCAL POLICIES OF GOVERNMENT….Says Hon. Mike Ebeatu

In a swift reaction to a misleading report published online, the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Onne Seaport Chapter, Barr. Mike Ebeatu, has debunked an alleged  “Lamentations by Clearing agents under the umbrella of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) over delays and extortions by both officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigerian Ports Authority( NPA) at the Onne Port Gate, in Rivers State.”

 

In an exclusive interview with GLOBAL RAYS Media, Mike Ebeatu, said, “That statement credited to ANLCA Onne Seaport Chapter  during the 3 day working visit of our  Acting National President, Dr. kayode Farinto, was misleading and not true rather is baseless and on the figment of the imagination of the author.”

He continued, ” Let me State categorically that ANLCA Onne Seaport Chapter has a robust synergies and cordial working relationship with Customs Onne Command and Nigerian Ports Authority, Onne  which is reflected in our concerted efforts and drive for all Agents to be compliance with the fiscal policies of the federal government in line with our rules of operations. Customs, NPA and ANLCA are partners in the implementation of fiscal policies of the federal government.”

 

Mike Ebeatu reiterated, ” We shall not condone any action or inactions calculated to fan the embers of blackmail, discord and calumny amongst stakeholders at Onne Seaport by some malicious write up aimed to paint the ANLCA in a bad light.”

Adding,  “ANLCA Onne Seaport Chapter are partners in progress with the Nigeria Customs Service, Onne Command and Nigerian Ports Authority, Onne  in achieving seamless cargo documentation and clearance at the Ports and if there’s any grey areas  we have an internal mutual and harmonious ways to handle it. Since, my assumption as  ANLCA  chairman Onne Seaport we have continued to implore all avenues to resolve any possible grey areas in Cargo documentation and clearance at the Ports, thus, there’s no extortions at the Onne Port gate and lamentations  by ANLCA members as published.”

He added, ” Journalists are builders of society and not spoilers and I urge all Media practitioners to be very objective and fair in there reportage aimed to foster peace, co- existence and socio- economic development of the state and society.”
