In what appears as a hand shake acccross the state, a Port Harcourt based philanthropist Chief AChi, Eric Eguwibe has been conferred with a chieftaincy title of NWANNE DI ‘N MBA 1, of Umuezeala ancient kingdom Ehime Mbano, Imo State by his Royal Highness Eze Tobias Iwuagwu, Aro the 11, of Umuazeala weekend at his palace in Umuezeala Ancient kingdom.
Our Correspondent report the occasion which attracted,the Eze -in council, community leaders and opinion moulders, Chiefs, village heads, Honournary members Police Officers’ Mess, Rivers state Command Holy Rosary Secondary School Old Girls Association port Harcourt, was desciblrd as yet another feather in the cap of Chief Ugwibe who we gathered has received several chieftancy titles in other communities including the chieftancy title of IYi NA NENU,which according to information was conferred on him in the year 2000,by his Nenu community in Obingwa Abia State.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the coronation, his Royal Highness, Eze,Tobias Iwuagwu maintained that what played out weekend was as a result of friendship which has spaned for over thirty years. “Egwuibe is our own son, this relationship has reached thirty years and there is no any developmental project going on here in my community he won’t contribute.”
Adding ” this coronation was supposed to have taken place since, 2019 when others were coronated, but today, we are all happy that he has finally come for the ceremony”, Eze Iwuagwu said.
Chief, Egwibe holds a BSc Degree in Accountancy from Abia State University, Msc degree, UNN, a Chartered Account, Associate member Chartered institute of Taxation, former member Abia State University Governing council, President Honournary member police officers mess, Rivers state Command member Board of Trustees Abia state university Alumni Association ph chapter among others.
GLOBAL RAYS can authoritatively report that chief Ewguibe who was instrumental to the successful hosting of 2019 End of the year activities of Igbo Journalists Forum Port Harcourt also learnt that in December Last year Egwuibe single handedly constructed a 300 Seater capacity Town hall in Nenu Obingwa, Abia State which the former Deputy Governor of Abia, Chief Christ Akomas duriing the commissioning described as one of its kind in Abia State. A part from that, Chief Egwibe has empowered his community through scolarships and other developmental projects.
In his remarks, Chief Egwibe a senior manager with one of the IOCs,here in Rivers,promised the Umuezeala Ancient kingdom that with the chieftancy title of Nwanne Di na mba 1, he is now fully a member of their community assuring that “I will continue to support the community” noting I hold this title in high esteem, whatever developmental projects this community is doing, I am part of it and will be close to you. As far as Umuezala is concerned, you are my people and be rest assured am now part of you” He said.
Earlier, the former LGA chairman Ehime Mbano Nze Damian Anyanwu one of the cabinet members and the traditional prime Minister,has taken the visitors to the memory lane,descibing Umuezela as an ancient kingdom and one of the communities in Ehime Mbano with only 11 villages but can now boost of 31 villages ranking among the First Class stools in Imo state.
Also coronated were his wife Lolo Ester Egwuibe and his daughter Princess Chimdi Nken Egwuibe .
