Reacting to the AGM, Chief Ernest Elochukwu, has said, ” The AGM was an exercise in futility. Some few members who are benefiting and reaping from the faulty system in the ANLCA are hell bent to promote wrong doings in the association.”
When contacted, Chief Ifeanyi Isikaku, said,” The AGM is a huge success and ANLCA is moving forward with new reforms for the interest of all. We elected 9 board members and is left for them to choose who will be their Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary.”
Adding, ” We did a Constitution amendment on the issue of someone coming through the back door to contest election after serving two term in a chapter; the case of Mike Ebeatu was laid to rest at the AGM.”
He continued, ” Though it’s in our constitution as the ANLCA lawyer said categorically clear that no official who have taken oath of office in a particular office and served two term in the same office can take oath of office in the same office in another chapter.”
Ifeanyi asserted, ” We all know that Mike Ebeatu have served two term in Oil and Gas chapter as chairman so he is no longer eligible to contest for election in the same capacity as stated in our constitution.”
Adding, ” “Mike Ebeatu can contest as PRO, which is good and if you watch his good in snapping pictures and posting it at ANLCA platform group WhatApp. I will like to work with him as the PRO of Onne Chapter because of his good skills.”
He opined, ” ANLCA has now made all the elected offices to be a single term exercise to pave way for growth and development in the Association both the board, NECOM and Chapter levels are all single term ; board is 6 years ; NECOM is 5 years and Chapter chairman is 4 years.”
He posited that, ” The National President is a rallying force for peace and development in ANLCA and he agreed his going to serve one tenure aimed to give our young members opportunities of sense of belonging and participation.”
In his remarks, Prince Maximus Anaba, said, ” It’s of note that ANLCA has a new slogan which says; ‘ ANLCA!!! idea for the future.’
He added, ” It’s an indication that all those who served ANLCA in the past should give way and watch so that there will be progress in the association.”
Adding, ” The AGM elected a 9 board members and Kingsley Offor is now a member of the board which indicates that the ANLCA is giving way for the young and vibrant members to exert their wealth of experience and knowledge in the growth and sustainability of ANLCA.”
Prince Maximus Anaba, said,” The statement credited to Chief Ernest Elochukwu is his personal opinion and ANLCA is bigger than any individual or group.”
Adding, ” ANLCA constitution says in section 8 ; 1A page 18 if you have served twice you have no chance to contest again same position otherwise if you want to go to another chapter to contest you must resign completely one year ahead before you can contest for the new chapter you intend to.”
