This is no longer business as usual, as a member you must show due respect to the rule of law, the founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam has declared.
He made this assertion at the commissioning of the new office for 100 per cent Presidential Compliance Team of the Association at Leo complex, Eleganza, Apapa, Lagos
Aniebonam lauded the National Co-ordinator NAGAFF 100 per cent Compliance Team, Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim, for taking a bold step in actualizing the dream of the organization.
In his response, Tanko, said, ” We are tired of giving bribe and want every government officials to do the right thing.”
Adding, “The federal government is loosing alot of revenue and we are ready to assist government in every way we can to assist the government generate revenue instead of sourcing for loan outside the country.”
Tanko, however, appeal to members to ensure 100 per cent declarations, don’t declare Chewing gum and we eventually find battery. While, appealing to the Nigeria Customs to assist them in declaring value, as this discourage their members to do the right thing.
His words: ” Our duty here is not only to customs, but also shipping companies, terminal operators and government agencies, anybody who is seen trying to do the old way should better stop.”
He urged members not to see the compliance as a threat, rather, ” In as much as you are doing the right thing we are for you.”
