GLOBAL RAYS Investigation at the Federal Ocean Terminal, FOT, Onne Rivers State has shown a seamless cargo documentation and clearance at the gate, against the backdrop of alleged duplications of documentation and delays of cargo clearance at the gate.
Our investigation revealed that cargo or container documentation is on seamless operations and compliance with declarations for duty payments strictly adhered to with a view to generate accurate revenues to the Federal coffers.
The Federal Ocean Terminal gate cargo documentation and Clearance is the statutory responsibility of the Nigeria Customs Service as enshrined in the extant Laws.
The Nigeria Customs Service Onne command under the unassuming and results driven customs Area Controller, Compt. Galadima Saidu, have continued to enforce compliance and tactical strategies aimed to avert any possible loopholes of revenue generation in line with the fiscal policies of the Federal government.
The customs area controller have created cordial and robust working relationship with all stakeholders in ports operations aimed to enforce compliance and user friendliness of the command.
In the same vein, the officer in charge of Federal Ocean Terminal gate, Deputy Comptroller, Ibrahim Ali, has keyed into the service vision and mission with a view to generate more revenue and suppress smuggling to the barest minimum.
A prominent Licensed customs Agent who confided in GLOBAL RAYS said, ” Since the assumption of office of DC Ibrahim Ali, at FOT gate, cargo documentation and clearance are on fast track level. however, there may be some delays occasioned by minor discrepancy in items or declarations.” Adding, ” The officer in charge at FOT gate, DC Ibrahim Ali, is disciplined, assessable ,results driven and not ready to compromise on fiscal policies.”
