NAVY ARRESTED 19 SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES

The Nigerian Navy has arrested and handed over 19 suspectes and two fiber boats laden with petroleum products to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigation and Procesution.

This information was contained in a Press Statement issued by the Spokesman,Tony Orilade, and made available to GLOBAL RAYS Media.

It reads in Part : “The suspects were involved in illegal dealing in Petroleum products stolen from an hijacked vessel, MT MAMA ELIZABETH. ”

” The sum of 3,500,000.00 only suspected to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal acquired products was fund on the suspects at the point of arrest. ”

Reacting on the development, Idris Abubakar, an investigator with the EFCC, who received the suspects and the boats on behalf of the commission, assured the Nigerian Navy of diligent investigation and Prosecution of the suspects.

Adding the suspects would be arraign in court as soon as investigation was concluded.
