The Nigerian Customs Service, Onne Chapter, has generated over N93.7Billion and 26 seizures with a Duty Paid Value of N470million in the year 2017.
However, the command has generated N11.4Billion so far into the federation account with a target revenue of N117.8Billion.
In view of this, the Customs Area Controller, Compt. Abubakar Bashir, has resolved to improve on revenue generation so far by displaying greater diligence in all activities in Onne Seaport.
The Customs Area Controller, has embarked on series of training for officers and men and other stakeholders on IT compliance and modern customs procedures.
He also introduced several dispute resolution mechanism aimed to facilitate trade and create synergies with all relevant stakeholders at Onne Seaport.
Compt. Bashir has sound a note of warning to all illegal activities and prospective smugglers that Onne is no go area.
In line with the 3-point agenda of the Nigerian Customs Service, the CAC, has seized several prohibited goods imported into the country through Onne Seaport.
Most stakeholders in the eastern zone have continued to commend the disciplined and selfless service of the Nigerian Customs Service, with a view to save life and generate more revenue to the federal government.
